Cylinda: 50 Years of a Design Classic
Iconic Scandinavian design house Stelton are commemorating the 50th anniversary of their iconic Cylinda line in 2017, and to celebrate are relaunching several of their design classics with new updated aesthetics.
Cylinda Line 50th Anniversary Edition
Originally designed by Danish designer Arne Jacobson, the Cylinda line has become one of Steltons most iconic designs. Based on Jacobson's philosophy that "Good design should be available for everyone", the line was originally released in 1967 after 3 years of intensive product testing.
Aside from design, one of Jacobson's other passions was painting and botanical beauty. Inspired by this, the new Cylinda line features items coated in beautifully coloured enamel, colours which reflect a natural theme. These soft colours enhance the striking silhouette of the pieces and come in Ocean Blue, Dusty Teal, Powder and Smokey Blue.
New Family Members for SS17
Alongside the updated Cynthia range, Stelton also introduced new items in the Emma family. Including the Emma Pitcher which is designed to call to mind classic Danish steel pitchers of the 1950's. Along with the new pitcher, Stelton also designed the Twin serving tables and Emma Electric Kettle.
