Highlights from Maison&Objet 2024
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Maison&Objet returned to Paris this January, captivating audiences with its theme 'Tech Eden'. Here are some highlights that caught our eye:
‘Outonomy’ - Mathieu Lehanneur
Named the 2024 ‘Maison & Objet Designer of the Year’, Mathieu Lehanneur unveiled 'Outonomy', a thought-provoking yellow space challenging visitors to contemplate their true needs.
House of Finn Juhl
The House of Finn Juhl unveiled the Hulsø Shelf, a timeless masterpiece originally conceptualised by Finn Juhl in 1949, alongside iconic pieces reimagined in fabrics from Sahco – Kvadrat's 2024 collection.
BLACKCORK + GENCORK
Prominent Portuguese design brands, BLACKCORK and GENCORK, marked their 10th anniversary at the exhibition, highlighting their dedication to sustainability and creative utilisation of expanded black cork. Gencork presented Corkbiomorph wall panels by SPECTROOM, while Blackcork showcased 'Folka,' a collection of outdoor seating designed by Toni Grilo.
Senimo
Designed by Fabien Colomines, Senimo's Sharpei and Shamalow stools are crafted from meticulously formed MDF offcuts. These limited-edition pieces are finished with vibrant retro-inspired high gloss lacquers.
13 Desserts
13 Desserts transformed their stand, designed by Paf Atelier, into a playground showcasing their latest furniture, lighting and design objects. Among the highlights was the Grand Ribaud collection by Thomas Defour, designed for "idleness" in extreme conditions.
L’Arte nel Pozzo
Siamo tutti uno, created in collaboration with Roberta Mari and Silvia Z. Pio for L’Arte nel Pozzo, is a collection of modular vases handcrafted in Italy. For each vase sold, a percentage is donated to Survival International, which defends the rights of indigenous peoples.
