Chisel & Mouse celebrate the beauty of our industrialised world, combining an artisan’s approach with modern innovation and transformative technologies, capturing life and its big ideas in miniature. Brothers Robert and Gavin Paisley have been casting and handcrafting exact physical representations of architectural landmarks and cityscapes since 2011. With dexterity, artistry, a keen eye for detail and patience, Chisel & Mouse, create finely balanced architectural sculptures of iconic buildings and cityscapes.

The brand’s punctilious edit of over 70 famous buildings includes the modernist Bauhaus Dessau by Walter Gropius and the art nouveau Helsinki Central Station by Gottlieb Eliel Saarinen. A number of limited edition models and miniature minis complete the handmade (signed and dated) collection. In a 1:5000 series of cityscapes, Chisel & Mouse present a captivating set of physical maps, created using satellite data, 3D printing and traditional moulding and plaster casting. In addition, a coloured series of maps, ‘Blue River’, highlight a city’s waterways.

Capitol Dome Designed by Thomas Ustick Walter

An exquisite architectural sculpture of the US Capitol Dome. Instantly recognisable, the dome is one of America’s most famous man-made landmarks and a dignified symbol of US democracy. The Chisel & Mouse US Capitol Dome is a 3D printed cutaway model that encapsulates the intricacy of the dome’s design, as well as the astonishing amount of labour and craftsmanship used to construct this magnificent building.

The dome is available as a limited edition model: 150 beautifully crafted and hand signed domes will be produced. Each US Capitol Dome is mounted on a white base and housed beneath a traditional bell jar, offering the perfect way in which to display, appreciate and marvel at this classic piece of American architecture.

Philip Johnson’s illustrious Glass House

In 2019 American architect Philip Johnson’s Glass House celebrated its 70th anniversary. Completed in 1949, the Glass House is located on a 47–acre estate in New Canaan, Connecticut. A modern architectural masterpiece, the Glass House heralded the use of the International Style in residential American architecture. Chisel & Mouse’s model-making treatment. Robert and Gavin Paisley have created a truly delightful reproduction of Johnson’s glass dwelling. Made using plaster and 3D printing, and displayed under an acrylic case, the Glass House by Chisel & Mouse will adorn any creative shelf, table or desk.

New Scandinavian Destinations added to Cityscapes Collection

For Chisel & Mouse, cities are a model makers goldmine, offering a fascinating opportunity to explore and capture the urban landscape in three-dimensional form. With the brand’s cityscapes, they're crafting an artistic representation of the physical geography of a city, capturing in faithful detail its architecture, thoroughfares, parks and waterways. Chisel & Mouse use satellite data to create a digital model. With this model, a 3D printed version of the built environment is made; combined with traditional moulding and plaster casting, the digital–handmade cityscape is crafted. Accurate to the nearest metre, cityscapes are scaled at 1:5000 and capture an area of 1.5 km x 1.5 km. Two new additions are the scandinavian cities of Copenhagen and Stockholm.

New Mini Bauhaus Models

Celebrating 100 years of the Bauhaus, Chisel & Mouse showcase several Bauhaus era designs. The brand’s meticulous edit of famous buildings includes the new mini Bauhaus Dessau Stair Block and Bauhaus Dessau Entrance models.
